Your Website Is Secretly Losing Leads
Your customers want to text you. Most of them still can’t.
Your website has a phone number.
That works for people who want to call.
But a lot of homeowners would rather send a quick text than explain their problem over the phone. If your website does not give them that option, they leave and contact the next company.
You never even know the lead existed.
This is especially important in home services.
Someone with a clogged drain wants to send:
My kitchen sink is backed up. Can someone come today?
They do not want to fill out a long form and wait.
Here is how to fix it this week.
1. Add a “Text Us” button beside every phone button
Do not hide it on the contact page. Put it in the header, mobile menu and service pages.
2. Use one platform for calls and texts
I recommend Quo because your CSRs can manage both from the same app. No personal cell phones. No separate texting software.
3. Create an after-hours response
Use something simple:
Thanks for reaching out. We received your message and will respond first thing tomorrow morning.
4. Set a two-minute response goal
During business hours, new texts should be treated like new phone calls. The company that responds first usually has the best chance of booking the job.
5. Use texting after the lead comes in
Send appointment confirmations, technician arrival updates, estimate follow-ups and Google review requests by text.
This is not a complicated marketing campaign.
It is one button, one platform and a faster response process.
