Top 5 Home Service Business Models

In no specific order:

  1. Pest Control: Many characteristics of a superior business model. It generates recurring revenue with high customer lifetime value, is easy to fulfill, and has abnormally high profit margins.

  2. Roofing: High revenue potential with large projects, essential for property protection, high urgency in repairs, substantial profit margins due to the nature of the work, and high barriers to entry due to the need for specialized skills, equipment, and licensing.

  3. Painting: Has consistent demand, medium to high ticket prices, is hard for a homeowner to fulfill on their own, making them more likely to pay for the service, and has predictable expenses.

  4. HVAC: Essential service with high-ticket items and repairs, significant profit margins, and urgent demand, ensuring customers are willing to pay for prompt service. When it's 95 degrees outside and your AC breaks, you will pay any amount of money.

  5. Plumbing: Critical service with high-ticket repairs and installations, substantial profit margins, and high urgency, leading to customers prioritizing quick completion.
