It is approximately a 2-minute read.

How to implement second-order thinking

What is it?

In order to understand second-order thinking, you must first understand first-order thinking.

First-order thinking - It happens when we look for something that only solves the immediate problem without considering the consequences. For example, it's like saying, "Our sales are down, so let's slash our prices," without realizing it might harm our brand's perceived value over time.

Second-order thinking - This way of thinking is more deliberate. This is where you consider a chain of results stemming from one singular decision. For example, when you make the decision to slow down lead generation because you are too busy while not considering the amount of time and effort it took to get in the position you are now.

Why its beneficial: Why they need to do it.

How to implement it: Use these thinking frameworks.

  1. Always ask yourself, “And then what?”

  2. What do the consequences look like in 10 minutes? 10 months? 10 Years?

This will change everything:

When you start to understand the value and benefits of second-order thinking, everything will change, from the way you communicate with customers and employees to marketing expenses.

When you are able to see out further, take 1-2 steps and focus on what will come 1 year from now instead of focusing on tomorrow you will go from the average operator that can lead a 6-figure business to the operator who can lead an 8-figure business.

The fastest way to gain levels is to learn how to think.
