What are Google Ads?
When someone searches for a service related to your business, your ad will appear at the top of the results page. This means your business is visible to potential customers when they’re searching for your offer.

How do they work? What is the cost?
Google Ads operates on a pay-per-click (PPC) model, which means you only pay when someone clicks on your ad. You choose keywords related to your business (like “plumbing services near me”), and Google shows your ad to users searching for those terms.
The cost depends on multiple variables, but the primary factor being how much your competitors are paying. Google Ads works as an auction. If there are multiple competitors with a $20k/month budget and are willing to pay $50 per click, naturally, the cost per click (CPC) will be higher.
This will change based on the industry you are competing in. Roofers may be willing to pay $200 per lead, while pressure washers might only pay $30 per lead. Make sense?
Different Types of Google Ads:
Search Ads: These ads appear at the top of Google search results when someone searches for specific keywords. They’re text-based and ideal for capturing users who are actively looking for a service.
Display Ads: Display ads are visually engaging ads (images or banners) that show up on websites across the internet.
Performance Max (PMax): Performance Max is an ad campaign type that uses automation to display your ads across all Google channels—Search, Display, YouTube, more. PMax uses Google’s AI to optimize ad placements and formats, aiming to find the right customers at the right time.
Will I Make Money?
People would not pay for ads if they did not make more money than they spent.
That is the entire point of business.
But, if you’ve never managed an ad campaign, you will lose money, which is guaranteed.
